Editorial: the homeopathic treatment of cancer

by Deborah Collins

This month, we have concentrated on the homeopathic treatment of cancer, with contributions from homeopaths around the world who have extensive experience in the subject. One will immediately notice that there is a wide variety in the manner of treatment.

Declan Hammond, from Ireland, presents a case of severe pathology with an equally severe family history; he follows the progress of the situation with different remedies and with frequent follow-ups, where psychological support plays a crucial role.

Dr. Ramakrishnan from India, who has treated thousands of cases, is known for his “plussing method”; a way of prescribing the appropriate remedy repeatedly, every day, and in incrementally higher potencies, usually in alternation with Carcinosinum. From his experience, one requires a different approach when treating cancer cases, as we have little margin of error. As he puts it: “The challenges in cancer are so diverse and so complex that, if we treat people in a classical homeopathic way, we will just have to sit and watch hundreds and thousands of people dying classically.”

Rosina Sonnenschmidt, from Germany, uses a miasmatic approach and gives much practical advice and support in terms of diet, breathing exercises, and psychological and spiritual counseling, encouraging patients to resolve and release old patterns.

Dietmar Payrhuber, from Austria, proposes us two cases in which he utilises Jan Scholten’s approach to the periodic table for finding remedies that addresses the underlying issue in a deep and healing manner. Interestingly, after a mineral remedy has done its work, he later finds that a plant remedy is necessary to resolve a different layer.

Louis Klein's book "Miasms and Nosodes" handles the troublesome and yet fascinating subject of miasms and nosodes with clarity and depth. It also presents new remedy pictures and clinical gems that are nowhere else to be found. Miasms seem to be catching the attention of many at the moment. If the topic interests you, you can sink your teeth in the magazine Spectrum of Homeopathy's third issue, which contains an eclectic collection of miasmatic points of view, methods, and systems. Hello, I have been in homoeopathic profession since 1975 and I have cured many cancer patients so far. I have met some failures too. Of late, there so many approaches from many physicians around the world available through internet. From my experience it is more troublesome for those patients who received chemotherapy either by ways of tablets or injections. After getting chemotherapy the cancer virus gets more agitated and attacks the patient with a vengence it seems. It is better to advise the cancer patients not to have chemotherapy at any stage in any form. Your attempt to create awareness aboout cancer is very good. The homoeopaths should also create awareness among the public. But most of the homoeopaths themselves follow the most dangerous allopathic medicines for their patients without trying to improve their homoeo knowledge and skills and it is more pathetic. Ultimately it will spoil the total health of the suffering patients. Each and every homoeopathic consultant should understand this and study more homoeopathic books and equip them with appropriate knowledge. Thank you with regards. - Dr. MA Ickbal Ahamed.
