Powerdrugs - Spectrum Of Homeopathy 02/2010
Gustavo Dominici: The modern myth of Mate

As an everyday drug, mate has ancient roots and is widely used for a variety of purposes, particularly in South America.

The effect and symptom picture of mate has many similarities to the other stimulants. The main ingredient is mateine, which, together with the accompanying ingredients caffeine and theobromine, stimulates the central nervous system and raises psychomotor performance. In the remedy proving, the opposite set of symptoms – mental tiredness, sleepiness, distance, and fear of death – emerged clearly. Yerba mate (Ilex paraguariensis) was first proved in 2000 by Gustavo Dominici with a small group of Italian homeopaths.

KEY CONCEPTS: Fear, activity, appetite suppressant, speed, Ilex paraguariensis, clarity, Mate, somnolence, stimulants, dullness, addiction, fear of death
